I’m 23 years old – born in Fairfield, CA and raised in Sacramento, CA. I have two older brothers, an older half sister, and a younger half brother. My parents separated when I was six years old – my dad took my two older brothers and I from my mom. That was a very big struggle for me not having my mom.

When I was in high school my mom moved back in with us but my parents still weren’t together. It was weird but really great having my mom back. We grew very close.

After high school, I went to SCC for 1 full year then got married and moved to NC because my husband was in the Marines. In 2017 we had a baby boy named Ace. We eventually moved back to CA after my husband’s contract was up in 2018.

The month after we moved back my mom went into cardiac arrest and collapsed in my arms. She was in the hospital for 3 days before they figured out she wasn’t showing any signs of brain activity. After a week my family and I took her off of life support and spent the next week being by her side until she took her last breath. This is by far the hardest obstacle I’ve encountered in my life and I’m still dealing with it to this day.

My passions include playing piano and raising my son, Ace. He is what keeps me going every day. My biggest triumph so far is coming back to school and figuring out what I want to do.
